The difference between extensions that look fake and extensions that look like your own hair is almost entirely in the blending technique. Here's how professionals make extensions completely undetectable.

The Pro Blending Method

Step 1: Color Match to Mid-Lengths

Hold the extension weft next to your mid-lengths — not your roots. Your mid-lengths are the most visible part of your hair and the area where extensions blend. A perfect mid-length match makes extensions invisible.

Step 2: Tease the Root Before Clipping

Lightly tease each section at the root before snapping in a clip. This gives the clip something to grip and prevents slipping — it also creates a natural-looking base that hides the clip attachment point.

Step 3: Place Wefts in the Right Sections

  • Start at the nape — one wide weft across the back
  • Move up in sections, leaving 1–2 inches between each weft
  • Place the top weft at least 2 inches below the part line
  • Never place wefts too close to the hairline — they'll show

Step 4: Curl or Wave Everything Together

This is the most important blending step. After clipping in, curl or wave both your natural hair and the extensions together using the ABNER Rotating Curling Iron Set (3 sizes: 0.75", 1", 1.25", ceramic barrel) — when both textures are styled the same way, the line between natural hair and extension disappears completely.

For a 2-in-1 option, the TYMO Airflow 2.0 Curling Iron & Flat Iron (1.25 inch, dual voltage) straightens and curls — use it to match the texture of your extensions to your natural hair for a seamless blend.

Step 5: Apply Shine Serum Over Everything

Apply 1–2 drops of the One 'N Only Argan Oil Hair Treatment over both your natural hair and extensions after styling. This unifies the sheen and makes everything look like one cohesive head of hair.

Pro Blending Tips

  • Have extensions trimmed to match your natural layers after purchase
  • Use a wide-tooth comb to blend the extension into your natural hair after curling
  • Avoid touching the weft area — it can shift clips and reveal placement
  • Spray a light-hold hairspray over everything to lock the blend in place

Pro blending is a technique, not a secret. Learn it once. Wear extensions with complete confidence.
